The NYLT Leadership Academy is the premier BSA youth leadership course teaching youth to teach leadership to other youth. In 2021, the opportunity to earn one West Virginia University college credit for attending the course was announced.
New for 2022: The NYLT Leadership Academy & West Virginia University are excited to announce, Leadership Academy II—a 2 credit college level course that delves deeper into leadership and builds on the foundations of the 1 credit college level prerequisite course. Scouts that have completed NYLT Leadership Academy with WVU one credit course are eligible to complete another week at the NYLT Leadership Academy and earn 2 additional college credits. In 2022, Leadership Academy II will only be offered July 10-16, 2022 at the Summit Bechtel Reserve.
· Additional $25 per course
· Up to 3 total college credits
· Additional work outside weeks at Academy to earn credits
Here’s the sequence:
- First attend NYLT in your home council
- Then attend the NYLT Leadership Academy and optionally include 1 college credit
- Finally attend Leadership Academy II for 2 additional college credits (only available at the Summit Bechtel Reserve July 10-16, 2022)
